The Bethesda Big Train's late runs seal 11-4 blowout over the Herndon Braves

A three-run third inning sealed an 11-4 win for the Bethesda Big Train (24-7) over the Herndon Braves (7-24) on Tuesday at Alan McCullock Field.

Johnny Cole reached base three times. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He homered in the seventh inning.

Kit Scheetz looked sharp on the mound. Scheetz gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his four innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the Herndon Braves' Jake Barnes. Barnes went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the seventh inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Brock Larson got the win, running his season record to 4-0. He allowed three runs over four innings. Larson struck out four, walked three and gave up three hits.

Andrew Culp (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
