The Xenia Scouts (12-18) and the So. Ohio Copperheads (18-9) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Xenia Scouts that eventually took advantage of them in an 8-6 win at Bob Wren Stadium.
Clayton Brandt paced the Xenia Scouts at the plate. Brandt went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.
Taylor Burch racked up three RBIs on three hits for the So. Ohio Copperheads. He singled in the third innings and doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
Dalton Thompson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Xenia Scouts. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.
Alex Winkelman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out three.
