Early lead not enough for the Sioux Falls Canaries, drop 6-4 decision to the Sioux City Explorers

The Sioux Falls Canaries (3-6) built an early edge on Saturday, but the Sioux City Explorers (5-4) roared back to steal a 6-4 victory at Lewis _ Clark Park.

The Sioux City Explorers took the lead in the sixth inning on a wild pitch.

It was a good day at the plate for the Sioux City Explorers' Alberto Espinosa. Espinosa went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

The Sioux Falls Canaries had no answer for Cody Satterwhite, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Sioux Falls Canaries managed just one hit off of Satterwhite, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Nick Van Stratten racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Sioux Falls Canaries. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Jimmer Kennedy recorded his first win of the year for the Sioux City Explorers. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Kyle Vazquez (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed one run.
