The Cincinnati Steam drub the Licking County Settlers, 9-3

The Licking County Settlers (24-16) didn't have a chance on Friday, as the Cincinnati Steam (24-16) won in blowout fashion, 9-3 at Western Hills HS.

The Cincinnati Steam scored four runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Colin Hawk, a two-run double by Matt Williams, and a sacrifice fly by Tim OConner.

Max Andresen led the Cincinnati Steam's offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning.

Josh Carpenter was solid at the plate for the Licking County Settlers. Carpenter went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Eric Martin improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Cincinnati Steam. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered four hits.

Elliot Ashbeck was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked one and struck out four.
