Both the Lexington Hustlers (14-22) and the Cincinnati Steam (21-14) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Lexington Hustlers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 2-1 win at Georgetown College.
Trey Gross paced the Lexington Hustlers at the plate. Gross went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first and fourth innings and doubled in the fifth inning.
Austin Clay picked up the win for the Lexington Hustlers. Clay allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.
Brian Thene ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
