The Richmond RiverRats cruise past the Slippery Rock Sliders, 12-6

The Slippery Rock Sliders (26-32) didn't have a chance on Friday, as the Richmond RiverRats (24-34) won in blowout fashion, 12-6 at McBride Stadium.

The Richmond RiverRats scored three runs in the fifth on a two-run single by Jason Blum and an error.

Ryan Akins did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Richmond RiverRats, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He homered in the fourth inning.

Parker Osborne got on base three times in the game for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He singled in the third inning.

Even though Shane Bryant allowed six runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his fifth of the season. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Matt Klena (0-1) took the loss for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
