The Lorain County Ironmen offense too much for the Slippery Rock Sliders in 14-1 rout

Story by Narrative Science.

The Lorain County Ironmen (21-33) jumped out to an early lead on the Slippery Rock Sliders (24-30) and captured a 14-1 victory on Sunday at Jack Critchfield Park.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Lorain County Ironmen left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A sacrifice fly by Zach Ratcliff, a two-run triple by Ryan Leffel, an error, and an RBI single by Nate Langhals in the first inning fueled the Lorain County Ironmen's offense early.

Zachary LaRocca looked sharp on the mound. The Slippery Rock Sliders managed just three hits off of LaRocca, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out one during his six innings of work.

Jake Eikleberry ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked three and struck out none.

The Lorain County Ironmen easily handled the Slippery Rock Sliders pitching as six hitters combined for 16 hits, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
