Damon Waller clubbed two home runs to carry the Hannibal Cavemen (23-24) to an 18-4 win over the Quincy Gems (32-19) at Quincy Stadium.
Twelve runs in the first three innings helped the Hannibal Cavemen blow out the Quincy Gems. A two-run home run by J. Golden, an RBI double by Waller, a sacrifice fly by Trevor Kenyon, an RBI single by Derek Fletcher, an RBI single by Jerod Smith, and a home run by Golden in the first inning and a solo home run by Waller during the second inning fueled the Hannibal Cavemen's offense early.
The Hannibal Cavemen scored 10 runs in the first inning to build an early lead.
Dustin Lawson recorded his fourth win of the year for the Hannibal Cavemen. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out nine, walked one and surrendered 10 hits.
Jake Busiek couldn't get it done on the bump for the Quincy Gems, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in one-third of an inning, walked three and struck out none.
