The West Virginia Miners take out the Slippery Rock Sliders with help from May, 9-6

Kenny May went 2-4 as the West Virginia Miners (26-15) took home a 9-6 victory over the Slippery Rock Sliders (17-24) at Linda K. Epling Stadium on Friday.

He tripled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Brandon Koch baffled the Slippery Rock Sliders, striking out nine batters. Koch allowed two earned runs on two hits and two walks over 4 2/3 innings.

Max McDowell racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He homered in the fifth inning, tripled in the sixth inning, and singled in the ninth inning.

The West Virginia Miners couldn't get anything going as long as David Wilson was on the mound. Wilson gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Vince Bartolone got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed four runs over 2 1/3 innings. Bartolone struck out one, walked none and gave up five hits.

C Tyler Wilson was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
