Nielsen allows no runs to lead the Lake Erie Monarchs past the Cincinnati Steam 7-4

JD Nielsen kept the Cincinnati Steam (9-7) off the board during his five innings of work and the Lake Erie Monarchs (5-11) beat the Cincinnati Steam, 7-4.

Nielsen struck out four and allowed one walk and one hit.

The Cincinnati Steam couldn't slow down Jared Kujawa, who paced the Lake Erie Monarchs with six hits. He doubled in the sixteenth inning and singled in the fourth, seventh, fourteenth, and twenty-third innings.

Gavin Downs improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Brian Bien (0-1) took the loss for the Cincinnati Steam. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
