The Bourne Braves offense too much for the Wareham Gatemen in 8-0 rout

Story by Narrative Science.

The Bourne Braves (21-21) shut the door early on the Wareham Gatemen (9-33), capturing an 8-0 victory on Saturday at Spillane Field.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Bourne Braves left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Clinton Freeman, , an RBI single by Mark Laird, a sacrifice fly by Vinny Siena, and a sacrifice fly by Siena in the first inning and an RBI single by Max Pentecost during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Bourne Braves.

Laird did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Bourne Braves, reaching base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI.

The Bourne Braves got the win thanks in large part to Christian Colletti's dominant, three-strikeout performance. The Bourne Braves' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Will Coursen-Carr (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
