An excellent effort by Dillon Peters spurred the Harwich Mariners (15-13) to a 6-0 win over the Cotuit Kettleers (17-11) on Monday at Whitehouse Field.
Peters kept the Cotuit Kettleers off the board during his seven innings of work. Peters struck out five and allowed one walk and two hits.
The Harwich Mariners blew out the Cotuit Kettleers thanks to six hits, including zero extra base hits. The Harwich Mariners scored two runs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Blair DeBord and a passed ball.
Gunnar Heidt was hot from the plate for the Harwich Mariners. Heidt went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Chris Ellis was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
