Pentecost helps the Bourne Braves down the Wareham Gatemen 6-1

Max Pentecost collected three hits, sparking the Bourne Braves (9-9) to a 6-1 victory over the Wareham Gatemen (3-15) on Thursday at Spillane Field.

He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

The Wareham Gatemen's lineup had no answer for Cody Livingston. Livingston held the Wareham Gatemen hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six.

Jared Ruxer looked sharp on the mound. The Bourne Braves managed just two hits off of the the Wareham Gatemen's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Jaron Long improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Bourne Braves. He allowed one run over five innings. Long struck out two, walked none and gave up four hits.

Fred Shepard was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out eight.
