Five first-inning runs helped the Chatham Anglers (10-5) to a 7-5 win over the Bourne Braves (7-9) at Veterans Field on Tuesday.
Hunter Redman boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Chatham Anglers. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and seventh innings.
Joseph Goodman put together a nice outing. Goodman held the Bourne Braves hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Trent Gilbert paced the Bourne Braves at the plate. Gilbert went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third and fifth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.
David Speer (0-3) took the loss for the Bourne Braves. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
