The Cotuit Kettleers survive the Wareham Gatemen 3-2 thanks to Remillard's late-game heroics

Will Remillard drove in the go-ahead run to give the Cotuit Kettleers (3-1) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Cotuit Kettleers hung on to beat the Wareham Gatemen (1-2) 3-2 on Saturday.

With the score tied at one in the seventh inning, Remillard came to the plate and singled, scoring Tim Kiene and Steven Duggar.

The Cotuit Kettleers would not relinquish the lead as the Wareham Gatemen were unable to weather a two-run seventh inning deficit.

The Wareham Gatemen scored one run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Will Schwanke. Still, the Wareham Gatemen couldn't catch the Cotuit Kettleers.

Mike Ford put together a nice outing. The Wareham Gatemen managed just three hits off of Ford, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out four during his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Fred Shepard (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
