Early lead not enough for the Rockford Aviators, drop 6-4 decision to the Washington Wild Things

The Rockford Aviators (19-37) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 6-4 ballgame against the Washington Wild Things (27-30) on Wednesday at CONSOL Energy Park.

While the Rockford Aviators led until the sixth inning, the Washington Wild Things worked their way back and took the lead on a groundout by Stewart Ijames.

AJ Nunziato racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Washington Wild Things. He homered in the third inning.

Zach Fleshman put together a nice outing. Fleshman held the Rockford Aviators hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Michael Hur racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Rockford Aviators. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the third inning.

Jesus Del Rosario (0-1) took the loss for the Rockford Aviators. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
