The Gateway Grizzlies make the most of 9 hits in 9-7 victory over the Washington Wild Things

The Gateway Grizzlies (28-13) and the Washington Wild Things (21-21) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Gateway Grizzlies that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 9-7 win at GCS Ballpark.

Spiker Helms reached base four times in the game for the Gateway Grizzlies. He doubled in the eighth inning.

Shain Stoner had a hot bat for the Washington Wild Things. Stoner went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Zac Treece got the win, running his season record to 5-0. Treece struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Amalio Diaz (0-1) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
