Hamilton helps the Florence Freedom down the Washington Wild Things 1-0

Jeremy Hamilton went 2-3 as the Florence Freedom (22-14) took home a 1-0 victory over the Washington Wild Things (17-18) in seven innings at UCMC Stadium on Thursday.

He singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

The Washington Wild Things had no answer for Justice French, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Washington Wild Things managed just three hits off of the the Florence Freedom's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Shawn Blackwell kept the Florence Freedom off the board during his six innings of work. Blackwell allowed four hits, three walks and struck out one.

Daniel DeSimone recorded his seventh win of the year for the Florence Freedom. DeSimone struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Matt Phillips couldn't get it done on the mound for the Washington Wild Things, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
