The Evansville Otters outdone by McConkey and the Schaumburg Boomers, 2-1

Brian McConkey went 2-2, helping the Schaumburg Boomers (59-37) to a 2-1 victory over the Evansville Otters (51-45) on Sunday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

The Evansville Otters couldn't get anything going so long as Dexter Price was on the hill. Price held the Evansville Otters hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Rich Hawkins put together a nice outing. The Schaumburg Boomers managed just four hits off of Hawkins, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Caleb Cuevas (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
