The Washington Wild Things (10-5) and the Joliet Slammers (6-9) passed the lead back and forth five times on Thursday at Silver Cross Field, but in the end the Washington Wild Things pulled out a 5-3 win in six innings over the Joliet Slammers.

Shain Stoner got on base two times in the game for the Washington Wild Things. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning.

Shawn Sanford improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed three runs over six innings. Sanford struck out five, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Chuck Lofgren couldn't get it done on the bump for the Joliet Slammers, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked six, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
