The Gateway Grizzlies (2-1) and the Lake Erie Crushers (1-2) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Gateway Grizzlies capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 6-1 win at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Landon Hernandez racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Gateway Grizzlies. He homered in the fifth inning.

Gregg Downing racked up five strikeouts in the the Gateway Grizzlies win. Downing allowed no earned runs, five hits and two walks over six innings.

Kevin Berard had a hot bat for the Lake Erie Crushers. Berard went 3-4. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the third and eighth innings.

Alex Kaminsky ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
