Trevor Bettencourt threw seven scoreless innings to lift the Matsu Miners (19-13) to a 6-0 win over the Alaska Goldpanners (20-12) at Hermon Brothers Field.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Matsu Miners to easily put away the Alaska Goldpanners. An RBI single by Christin Stewart and a groundout by Gio Brusa in the first inning and a groundout by Micheal Thomas, a single by A.J. Simcox, an RBI double by Nash Knight, and an RBI single by Stewart during the second inning fueled the Matsu Miners' offense early.
Knight did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Matsu Miners, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI.
Michael Kaufman (0-1) took the loss for the Alaska Goldpanners. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
