Things looked bleak for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (11-15) when they trailed by two runs in the ninth inning, but the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs recovered thanks to a key hit into a fielder's choice in the ninth inning from Jeremy Owens to pull out a 4-3 win over the Somerset Patriots (16-8) at TD Bank Ballpark.

With the score tied at three, Owens came to the plate and hit into a fielder's choice, bringing home Cyle Hankerd.

Alvin Colina racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He homered in the third inning and singled in the eighth inning.

A bright spot for the Somerset Patriots in the defeat was Mitch Atkins, who allowed only two runs while striking out seven.

Kyle Zaleski recorded his first win of the year for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Jon Hunton (0-2) took the loss for the Somerset Patriots. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
