Barton helps the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs down the Bridgeport Bluefish 10-5

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (9-14) beat the Bridgeport Bluefish (10-12) 10-5 on Saturday at Harbor Yard behind Brian Barton, who had two extra base hits.

He singled in the third inning, tripled in the fourth inning, and homered in the ninth inning.

Luis Rodriguez racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Bridgeport Bluefish. He homered in the fourth inning.

Edward Rodriguez brought the heat against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs during his outing. Rodriguez gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Even though Ian Marshall allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. Marshall struck out six, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Mike Parisi (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked three and struck out seven.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs were sparked by Jose Salas and Barton, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.
