Donachie stars as the Somerset Patriots defeat the Long Island Ducks, 6-2

A great effort by Adam Donachie spurred the Somerset Patriots (9-4) to a 6-2 win over the Long Island Ducks (3-10) on Thursday at Bethpage Ballpark.

Donachie hit two home runs for the Somerset Patriots. Donachie went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Donachie homered in the second, eighth, and eighth innings.

The Somerset Patriots came out swinging, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Long Island Ducks early. A three-run home run by Jake Fox delivered the runs in the first. The Somerset Patriots had three hits in the inning.

Graham Taylor kept contact to a minimum, striking out nine the Long Island Ducks batters. Taylor allowed two earned runs, seven hits and one walk over six innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Long Island Ducks' Joash Brodin. Brodin went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.

Dontrelle Willis couldn't get it done on the hill for the Long Island Ducks, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked five, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
