Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

Early lead gives the Marthas Vineyard Sharks easy victory over the North Shore Navigators, 9-2

Story by Narrative Science.

The Marthas Vineyard Sharks (21-9) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the North Shore Navigators (14-14), recording a 9-2 victory on Saturday at Vineyard Baseball Park.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Marthas Vineyard Sharks left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI double by Nick Sell during the first inning and a two-run triple by Ryan Siegel and an RBI single by Dylan Tice in the second inning fueled the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' offense early.

The Marthas Vineyard Sharks were led by Tice's hitting. Tice went 3-5, drove in one and scored three runs.

Trevor Breton's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Marthas Vineyard Sharks past the North Shore Navigators. Breton allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks over seven innings.

Derek Dubois was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
