Three first-inning runs helped the Rockville Express (14-11) to a 6-2 win over the Vienna River Dogs (9-13) at Montgomery College on Monday.
R. Norm Donkin was solid at the plate for the Rockville Express. Norm Donkin went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Chris Brown picked up the win for the Rockville Express. Brown allowed one earned run, nine hits and no walks while striking out three over nine innings of work.
Nathaniel Abel ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
