Saturday was a great day for Kyle Roller, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Bourne Braves (3-3) to an 8-2 victory over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (4-4) at Red Wilson Field.
Roller had a busy day at the plate, collecting four extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and fifth innings and homered in the fourth and ninth innings.
The Bourne Braves blew out the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Bourne Braves scored three runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Stefan Romero and an RBI double by Roller.
Austin Wates boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.
Cameron Roth improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Bourne Braves. He allowed two runs over six innings. Roth struck out three, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Darrin Campbell (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
