The SAIT (3-2) jumped out to an early lead on the University of Regina (1-4) and captured an 8-1 victory on Monday.
The game was decided quickly as the SAIT exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Payton Eldridge and in the first inning and an RBI single by Monika Sestakova and a two-run single by Leanne Engle during the second inning supplied the early offense for the SAIT.Sestakova did his best to jumpstart the offense for the SAIT, reaching base three times. He scored three runs and had one RBI.
Engle had an impressive outing against the University of Regina's lineup. The University of Regina managed just two hits off of the the SAIT's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his five innings of work.
Brittany Nabholz (0-1) took the loss for the University of Regina. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
