Great game from the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's Pehl not enough in 8-6 loss to the Wareham Gatemen

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (5-2) failed to take advantage of Robert Pehl's effort at the plate on Friday, losing 8-6 to the Wareham Gatemen (6-1) in 10 innings at Red Wilson Field.

Pehl rocked the Wareham Gatemen with two home runs. Pehl went 3-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Pehl homered in the fourth and eighth innings.

The Wareham Gatemen found themselves down in the eighth inning but managed to fight back and claim the win.

Kyle Schwarber blasted two home runs for the Wareham Gatemen. Schwarber went 2-5 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Schwarber homered in the ninth and tenth innings.

The Wareham Gatemen staved off the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox as the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox were unable to match the Wareham Gatemen down the stretch.

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox scored one run in the tenth on a solo home run by Carlos Asuaje. Despite their efforts, the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox couldn't get over the hump.

Colby Suggs improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Wareham Gatemen. He allowed three runs over three innings. Suggs struck out five, walked none and gave up four hits.

Bryan Verbitsky ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
