Cotuit Kettleers vs Bourne Braves: 4-2

The Bourne Braves get on top of the Cotuit Kettleers early but can't hang on in 4-2 loss

The Bourne Braves (2-3) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 4-2 ballgame against the Cotuit Kettleers (1-2) on Saturday at Doran Park.

While the Bourne Braves led until the sixth inning, the Cotuit Kettleers worked their way back and took the lead on a triple by James Roberts.

Roberts was solid at the plate for the Cotuit Kettleers. Roberts went 2-4 and scored one run. He tripled in the sixth innings and singled in the eighth inning.

The Bourne Braves' lineup had no answer for Dan Slania. The Bourne Braves managed just one hit off of the the Cotuit Kettleers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his two innings of work.

Trent Gilbert was solid at the plate for the Bourne Braves. Gilbert went 3-4. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Jordan Ramsey recorded his first win of the year for the Cotuit Kettleers. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Jeff Thompson (0-1) took the loss for the Bourne Braves. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
