The Licking County Settlers survive the Cincinnati Steam 5-3 thanks to Parisi's late-game heroics

Matt Parisi brought home the go-ahead run to give the Licking County Settlers (4-1) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Licking County Settlers hung on to beat the Cincinnati Steam (2-2) 5-3 on Saturday.

After Marcos Calderon, Parisi singled, bringing home Calderon.

The Licking County Settlers held off the Cincinnati Steam, as the Cincinnati Steam were unable to overcome a three-run seventh inning deficit.

The Cincinnati Steam scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Justin Glass. Still, the Cincinnati Steam couldn't draw even.

Calderon put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Licking County Settlers. He doubled in the first and third innings.

Connor Murphy improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Licking County Settlers. He allowed two runs over two innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Brian Kirschbaum (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
