Great game from the Chatham Anglers' Knapp not enough in 6-4 loss to the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox

The Chatham Anglers (17-20) failed to take advantage of Andrew Knapp's effort at the plate on Wednesday, losing 6-4 to the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (21-17) at Red Wilson Field.

Knapp rocked the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox with two home runs. Knapp went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Knapp homered in the third and sixth innings.

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox scored four runs in the first inning to build an early lead.

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox staved off the Chatham Anglers as the Chatham Anglers were unable to match the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox down the stretch.

The Chatham Anglers scored on a two-run home run by Knapp in the third inning and a two-run home run by Knapp in the sixth inning. Despite their efforts, the Chatham Anglers couldn't get over the hump.

Justin Shafer racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings.

Rick Knapp improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Louie Lechich was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
