An ace performance by Will Krout spurred the Gary SouthShore RailCats (29-34) to a 2-0 win over the Sioux City Explorers (28-36) on Tuesday at Gary U S Steel Yard.

The Gary SouthShore RailCats' Krout kept the Sioux City Explorers off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out four.

Alain Quijano was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
