The United States National Team's Orgeron comes through in the clutch, upends the Japan National Team, 3-1

Christi Orgeron drove in the winning run to give the United States National Team (23-2) the lead in the eighth inning, as the United States National Team hung on to beat the Japan National Team (2-2) 3-1 on Saturday.

After Molly Johnson doubled, Orgeron came to the plate with the score tied at one, and doubled, plating Johnson.

Lauren Gibson had two extra-base hits for the United States National Team. She homered in the first inning.

Chelsea Thomas showed good control, allowing no walks. The United States National Team's pitcher pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing no earned runs and five hits while striking out two.

Keilani Ricketts got the win, running her season record to 9-0. She struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Y Ueno couldn't get it done in the circle for the Japan National Team, taking a loss. She lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out nine, and allowed three runs.
