A 12-run explosion in the second inning lifted the United States National Team (18-1) to a 17-0 win in three innings over the South Africa (0-1) at Softball City one on Monday.

Keilani Ricketts racked up four RBIs on two hits for the United States National Team. She homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

The United States National Team's Chelsea Thomas kept the South Africa off the scoreboard for all three innings she was on the hill. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out seven.

Kelly Korras was charged with her first loss of the year. She allowed nine runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.

The United States National Team pounded the South Africa pitching, as seven hitters combined for nine hits, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
