The West Virginia Miners take out the Richmond RiverRats with help from De La Rosa, 11-6

Alex De La Rosa went 3-3 at the plate, sparking the West Virginia Miners (40-18) to an 11-6 victory in seven innings over the Richmond RiverRats (32-26) on Sunday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Grant Williams looked sharp on the mound. Williams held the Richmond RiverRats hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Michael Meredith boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Richmond RiverRats. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.

Tyler Miller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked four and struck out two.
