The McKinney Marshals (7-22) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Brazos Valley Bombers (17-13), securing a 5-4 victory on Thursday at Allen High School.

The McKinney Marshals pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. An error scored Wes Jones and gave the McKinney Marshals the lead for good.

The McKinney Marshals would not relinquish the lead as the Brazos Valley Bombers were unable to weather a two-run third inning deficit.

The Brazos Valley Bombers scored one run in the fifth on two doubles. Unfortunately, the Brazos Valley Bombers weren't able to take the lead back.

Ronnie Mitchell had a hot bat for the McKinney Marshals. Mitchell went 2-3 and scored two runs. He singled in the first and third innings.

Sam Martin recorded his second win of the year for the McKinney Marshals. He allowed four runs over 4 2/3 innings. Martin struck out three, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Logan Burch (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
