An outstanding effort by Lee Powers led the USA Futures (3-0) to an 18-17 win in seven innings over the Canada (0-3) on Friday at Oklahoma City, Okla.
Powers racked up seven RBIs on four hits for the USA Futures. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the first, second, and sixth innings.
Luc Chauvette hit two home runs for the Canada. Chauvette went 3-4 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Chauvette homered in the second and sixth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 35 total runs and 45 hits during the game.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the sixth, with 11 lead changes.
Travis Clark recorded his third win for the USA Futures even though he allowed 17 runs over seven innings. Clark struck out none, walked two and gave up 23 hits.
Chris Parr ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 18 runs in six innings, walked one and struck out none.
The USA Futures pounded the Canada pitching, as eight hitters combined for 18 hits, 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
