Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (10-11) and the Seacoast Mavericks (12-12), as the two teams put up 27 runs combined in a 17-10 the Marthas Vineyard Sharks win.

Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed the Marthas Vineyard Sharks to easily put away the Seacoast Mavericks. A two-run single by Kyle Brenner during the first inning and an RBI single by Apolinar De La Cruz, a two-run double by Karl Kapinos, and a passed ball in the second inning helped the Marthas Vineyard Sharks put some runs on the board early.
Anyelo Roman was the lone bright spot for the Seacoast Mavericks in the loss.
Roman had three extra-base hits for the Seacoast Mavericks. He doubled in the third and fourth innings and homered in the seventh inning.
Roman put together a nice outing. The Marthas Vineyard Sharks managed just one hit off of the the Seacoast Mavericks' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his two innings of work.
Justin Meier got a hit in each of his two at bats. He singled in the third, fourth, and sixth innings.
Andrew Boyce recorded his first win of the year for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered one hit.
Brad Reynolds couldn't get it done on the hill for the Seacoast Mavericks, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
Brenner, De La Cruz, Tad Gold and Meier helped lead the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. They combined for seven hits and six RBIs.
