The Alexandria Aces' Moreda comes through in the clutch, upends the Woodlands Strykers, 11-6

Rene Moreda drove in the go-ahead run to give the Alexandria Aces (16-21) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Alexandria Aces hung on to beat the Woodlands Strykers (11-25) 11-6 on Saturday.

Garrett Vail to start the sixth. He then went from first to third on an RBI single by Doug Votolato. Finally, Moreda came to the plate with the score tied at four, and, scoring Vail and Votolato.

Michael Ruiz racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Alexandria Aces. He homered in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Carey Taylor recorded his first win of the year for the Alexandria Aces. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out eight, walked three and surrendered seven hits.

Martin Cronin was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
