The East Texas Pump Jacks sixth-inning burst enough to top the Alexandria Aces, 7-1

A four-run explosion in the sixth inning hoisted the East Texas Pump Jacks (13-3) to a 7-1 win over the Alexandria Aces (6-11) at Bringhurst Field on Monday.

Tyler Sullivan racked up three RBIs on three hits for the East Texas Pump Jacks. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the first and eighth innings.

Payton Smith handled the Alexandria Aces' lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Smith allowed no earned runs, four hits and no walks over 4 2/3 innings.

Lucas Quary paced the Alexandria Aces at the plate. Quary went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Cory Bernard got the win, running his season record to 2-0. Bernard struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Ben Frith was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
