Pointstreak Signs Agreement with the Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League

Toronto, ON Pointstreak and The Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League (WRWBL) are pleased to announce they have reached an agreement which will see Pointstreak provide real-time scoring, official statistics and administration services to the league.

“We’re excited to partner with Pointstreak and use their game management tool for the upcoming 2010 season,” said WRWBL Commissioner Dan Heavens.   “Pointstreak’s electronic stats platform, GAME LIVE, and searchable database will bring uniformity to our data – and real-time access for our players and fans.”

Pointstreak's baseball platform will streamline the process of capturing and delivering game statistics for the Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League and deliver those game events to the league and team websites in real-time for the benefit of players, fans and media partners. A unique feature of Pointstreak's baseball statistical solution is Game Live, a real-time flash application that streams play-by-play baseball results over a 3-D graphical image of a baseball diamond. Pointstreak Stats for baseball is also geared towards the needs of media sources, providing Associated Press (AP) formatted box scores, allowing for easy reproduction of baseball stats into print media.

“We are very proud to have been chosen as the Official Real Time Scoring and Statistics Provider for the Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League.  To have the ability to deliver real-time scoring and official statistics to their fans and media partners in true real-time will be a great enhancement to the League's standard operations” said Paul Pettipiece, VP of Baseball Operations for Pointstreak.  “Partnering with one of the Top 10 Leagues in the Nation is a very proud moment for us at Pointstreak and we look forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship with the WRWBL”.

About the WRWBL:

The Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League (WRWBL) is an 18 and over all-wood bat baseball league serving the New York metropolitan area with teams from Westchester, Rockland, the Bronx, Manhattan and Fairfield County, Connecticut. The league's mission is to provide a safe, centrally organized and highly competitive environment for current collegiate baseball players, as well as recent graduates and former professional ballplayers. Currently the league operates 15 teams with approximately 400 collegiate players competing each season. Nearly all are active or competed in an NCAA Division I, II or III baseball program. In addition, a growing population of former minor league players including those who competed on Major League Baseball affiliated farm teams, as well as various independent league teams are now finding homes on our rosters. The WRWBL has also been ranked as one of the top-10 leagues in the country by the National Semi-Pro Baseball Association.
