Blue Jackets and 5050 Central score with a new Partnership
Sep 05, 2012
When the Columbus Blue Jackets open their 2012 NHL season they will do so with a new partner, 5050 Central. The Blue Jackets Foundation and 5050 Central are teaming together on an innovative platform to raise funds for Columbus charities through a new, automated 5050 raffle. Gone are the old days where Blue Jackets volunteers manually sold raffle tickets by hand, replaced by the new 5050 Central system where tickets will be sold through automated devices and the pot totals are displayed in real time on scoreboards, televisions and monitors throughout Nationwide Arena.
"We're very excited about implementing the 5050 Central system at Blue Jackets games this upcoming hockey season. It is a proven platform, particularly among the hockey crowd," said Jen Bowden, Executive Director of the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation. "Transitioning to a digital system and adopting the 5050 Central platform will help our non-profit partners exponentially increase their fundraising and the automation of the program will also make the purchase process more convenient than ever for fans."
Kevin Lovitt, President of 5050 Central added, "We too are very proud of our part in helping to raise funds to help charities throughout the greater Columbus area. The Blue Jackets and the Blue Jackets Foundation are going to be tremendous partners with 5050 Central as we open the 2012/13 NHL season and continue with the 2013 NHL All Star game here in Columbus. More than the excitement we provide during the game, 5050's greatest achievement is the people that we help outside the arena. We are truly proud to be a member of the Blue Jackets team."
