Pointstreak Welcomes the 2012 Minto Cup

Toronto, ON – Pointstreak Sports Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce an agreement with the 2012 Minto Cup to deliver their real-time statistical and live game updated. The Minto Cup is the  Canadian Junior "A" Championship that will take place this year from August 18-26 in Whitby, Ontario with the Whitby Warriors being the host team.

ABOUT THE MINTO CUP:

The Minto Cup is the trophy awarded to the Championship Junior A Lacrosse team in Canada.  The Minto Cup is a silver cup donated by Lord Minto on May 31, 1901, for competition among the Lacrosse teams in the Dominion.

The cup was placed under control of trustees and in possession of C.A. Welsh, of New Westminster, B.C., the last surviving trustee. When he died, the present Lord Minto of England, whose father donated the cup, officially transferred it to the care and management of the Canadian Lacrosse Association, who placed it into competition for the Junior Championship of Canada. 

Each year the top four teams compete in a weekend of competition for the honour of winning this Trophy and being named the Top Junior A team in Canada.
