Pointstreak Signs Agreement with the New England Collegiate Baseball League

Toronto, ON – Pointstreak and The New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) are pleased to announce they have reached an agreement which will see Pointstreak provide real-time scoring, official statistics and administration services to the league.

NECBL Commissioner Mario Tiani stated, “The New England Collegiate Baseball League is very excited about our new partnership with Pointstreak. Our fans have become accustomed to the NECBL being pioneers in the use of technology in bringing the latest to our fans. Our new partnership with Pointstreak continues our goal of bringing the best of summer baseball to them.”

Pointstreak's baseball platform will streamline the process of capturing and delivering game statistics for the New England Collegiate Baseball League and deliver those game events to the league and team websites in real-time for the benefit of players, fans and media partners. A unique feature of Pointstreak's baseball statistical solution is Game Live, a real-time flash application that streams play-by-play baseball results over a 3-D graphical image of a baseball diamond. Pointstreak Stats for baseball is also geared towards the needs of media sources, providing Associated Press (AP) formatted box scores, allowing for easy reproduction of baseball stats into print media.

“We are very proud to have been chosen as the Official Real Time Scoring and Statistics Provider for the New England Collegiate Baseball League.  To have the ability to deliver real-time scoring and official statistics to their fans and media partners in true real-time will be a great enhancement to the League's standard operations” said Paul Pettipiece, VP of Baseball Operations for Pointstreak.  “The NECBL has done a fantastic job of embracing technology to enhance their player and fan experience and we are very excited to be part of these offerings in 2010 and beyond.”

About the NECBL:

The New England Collegiate Baseball League is summer collegiate baseball at its best! It is one of the most talented and competitive leagues in the country. The NECBL has achieved worldwide recognition and respect for the quality of baseball that is played, as well as the organizational professionalism of its teams. The enthusiasm of the fans, the hospitality of the host families and the dedicated volunteers that are affiliated with each team, is celebrated for being second to none.

Founded in 1993, the NECBL began its direction under George Foster, former Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets All-Star and Major League home run leader and league founder Emmy Award-winning television producer/director Joseph Consentino. Play started in 1994 and today the NECBL has become a strong twelve team league that plays in all six New England states and recruits players attending U.S colleges from New England, the other forty-four States and foreign countries.

The League starts its summer season in early June and plays an eight week 42 game per team schedule. The League Championship is determined by a playoff in early August. Each year our top players are scouted and selected in the MLB Draft.
