Pointstreak Chosen by Canada Wide Ball Hockey

October 24th, 2003

Vancouver, BC - The largest ball hockey tournament in Canada, "Ontario Tournament 2004" presented by Canada Wide Ball Hockey, has chosen Pointstreak as the official tournament statistics provider.

Canada Wide Ball Hockey's Ontario Tournament 2004 consists of hundreds of teams competing for a grand prize of $15,000 as well as $5,000 to be given to the charity of the winning team's choice. The tournament will be played in 16 cities across Ontario including Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Toronto, and Thunder Bay. Registration deadline is March 2004 with the 4 month tournament starting in May 2004.

"Tournaments that go the extra mile to provide a more entertaining experience to their customers will be the ones that players choose to participate in" said Gregg Sayer, Vice President & CMO of Inc., "Canada Wide Ball Hockey recognizes the value that Pointstreak's service has in bringing up-to-date scores, stats and standings to the tournament's participants and the satisfaction that parents and friends get while following their favourite team's progress from the comfort of their home computer."

Pointstreak's "Electronic Gamesheet System" uses dedicated touch-screen terminals or portable laptops to replace a league's paper gamesheet. Instead of writing a goal or penalty down on paper, the scorekeeper enters it directly into a touch-screen terminal or a laptop. Once the goal or penalty is entered, it is transmitted in real-time to the Internet, where it can be viewed by players, parents, fans, league administrators and rink operators. On the back end of Pointstreak's system, league administrators have full access to change any game or league information through secure, web-based administrative tools.

Canada Wide Ball Hockey's Ontario Tournament 2004 runs from May to September. Registration, statistics and other information can be found on Canada Wide Ball Hockey's website at

Pointstreak's product line includes statistical and league administrative solutions for amateur, recreational and professional hockey leagues with game recording solutions that include: touch-screen terminals, laptop-based software and online entry software.
